Yes, as Susan D writes, a princess ring is a specific design (vaguely conical) featuring multi-colored stones set in gold. I’ve heard that the design is based on the design of the hats of Thai traditional dancers, and once I ever heard that the design was based on the crown of the Thai princess.
May be the OP will let us know what she means?
I know it with a large size colored stone, held by 4 claws which are topped with a tiny diamond. Seems it is a fantasy name, and it has nothing to do with royalty anywhere. I actually saw it in Zurich in a shop in Bahnhofstrasse. Price was way beyond my budget.
Can anyone recommend a legitimate jewelry shop in Bangkok (or even Chiang Mai) where I could buy a princess ring? Thank you!
Check out James Allen or Blue Nile. Both are USA companies with very good mail order reviews.
Princess cut diamond??
Thank you for all the responses.
Dont know what you mean by Princess Ring. This is a design I saw in some countries in Europe done by a few goldsmiths. But you may mean something else? Any picture or description?
Lambert Gems, who get good reviews here on Tripadvisor, have a picture of one on their website so it’s possible that they sell them.
