how to make your own pipes

How to make your own pipes

Since this article is about making a homemade bong, chances are you don’t have any actual pipe screens around. In this case, you can make some DIY pipe screens for single-time use. Here are your options:

Nonetheless, the factors mentioned don’t include “high.” That’s because, technically, you’ll be consuming the same amount of THC if you’re using the same quantity of the same marijuana flower. Even if not the most pleasant, these stoner MacGyver techniques will surely be effective. Just use them wisely.
You can also get pipe screens made from quartz, which are even more heat-resistant than glass. Replaceable glass or quartz screens aren’t as common as the aforementioned options, with most high-quality glass bongs incorporating borosilicate or quartz screens right into their design. These often feature decoratively placed holes instead of the ultra-fine mesh of brass or steel.

Whether you make your pipe from a soda can or piece of fruit, you’ll want a pipe screen to use with it. If you smoke your weed without a screen, it could be quite an unpleasant experience. A screen keeps the loose bits in your pipe instead of in your mouth, so you can enjoy hitting your bong much more!
Make sure you learn the best techniques to save you in your time of greatest need. You never know when you might need a backup bong. Luckily, it’s easier to make than you think!
Steel screens are often used in silicone bongs and acrylic bongs, although the latter can easily be scratched with these screens. They work just like brass screens, and there is no difference in taste. In fact, aside from their colour, the main difference between these two materials is that steel is more durable.
Stainless steel screens
You can customise things further by changing the type and quantity of fruit. Essentially, anything will work as long as you can build an airflow system like with the apple. You can even stack vegetables and fruit together to build a larger and tastier bong. You might even be able to add water if you use a pineapple, for example. Or, try doing it with a coconut and use its natural water! For this, you would stick a hollow tube through the side, carve out the top and pull from there. Surely sounds delicious.

What is their disadvantage? Well, brass screens are not as sturdy as screens made from steel, for example. Although brass screens won’t melt, if you hit your pipe often, they will get weaker over time and break at some point.

It's 3am and you finally finished that paper. There's not a place open and you still want that smoke before bed. We have the solution for you!

smoking marijuana before surgery

Smoking marijuana before surgery

It may seem like a drag — pardon the pun — to stop smoking marijuana before surgery and to not smoke during your recovery from surgery, but you will heal faster, return to your normal activities more quickly, have less scarring and fewer complications if you refrain.

Unfortunately, research on the topic of marijuana use and the effects during surgery is limited but should become more plentiful in the future as medicinal marijuana has been legalized in multiple states (and recreational use in a growing number), making it easier to gather scientific data on the topic. We do know that marijuana, while effective for decreasing nausea and some other health-related benefits, has the potential to interact with anesthesia.
Like nicotine, marijuana can complicate surgery and should be avoided in the weeks and even months prior to your procedure. Much like smoking cigarettes, abstaining from marijuana in the weeks before surgery can decrease the likelihood of complications during and after surgery.

The use of marijuana the day before surgery, and especially in the hours prior to the procedure, can cause more dramatic effects. While some people are tempted to use marijuana prior to surgery in an effort to relax or be less stressed before the procedure, this is a very bad idea and can cause problems.
Smoking marijuana regularly leads to the same risks of complications faced by patients who smoke cigarettes. This means that marijuana smokers are more likely than non-smokers to be on the ventilator longer, have a higher risk of developing pneumonia after surgery, and greater scarring of incisions.
Marijuana causes the blood vessels of the body to relax, a process called vasodilation. This process can cause the blood pressure to fall and the heart rate to increase. These, in turn, can complicate matters if the patient’s blood pressure is falling due to issues with the surgery, and can change the way the body responds to anesthesia.
If you smoke marijuana and are planning to have surgery you may be wondering if you need to stop smoking before your procedure. Like smoking cigarettes, the short answer is this: Yes, quitting today may improve your surgical outcome, how quickly you get out of the hospital and how quickly you heal after surgery.
The use of marijuana, especially immediately prior to surgery, can change the doses needed for sedation. One commonly used medication, Propofol, requires substantially higher doses for the patient who routinely uses marijuana.

Regular marijuana use, like cigarette and cigar use, can increase the length of time it takes to be removed from the ventilator after surgery. The risk of being on the ventilator long term is decreased by quitting smoking before surgery, and that risk is decreased further with every day that passes between the last day of smoking and the day of surgery.

Smoking pot before surgery can cause problems during and after your procedure, find out why you should avoid marijuana before surgery.

But, “that’s more speculation than we really know,” Uppington says. “The bottom line is, if you’re a chronic user of marijuana, you are more resistant to anesthetics, both those that put you to sleep, like propofol, and those that keep you asleep, like various anesthesia gases.”

Awakening mid-wisdom tooth extraction was eye-opening for Jennie. Since her doctor didn’t ask her specifically about her drug use, and she didn’t think smoking weed wouldn’t matter for her surgery, she didn’t mention it; in fact, she worried that if she did, she wouldn’t be allowed to undergo the procedure. “In the future, I would definitely inform my doctor of my cannabis use,” she says.
Why marijuana increases your need for anesthesia remains unclear, largely because of its status as a federally illegal drug, which makes it difficult to research, Jeffrey Uppington, an anesthesiologist at UC Davis Medical Center, tells Mic. It’s possible that compounds in weed called cannabinoids — which tetrahydrocannabinol (THC, which is responsible for making you feel high) — affect the same receptors in the brain and spinal cord as anesthesia drugs do.

Jennie had been smoking weed at least once a day for the past four years. She smoked with her fiancГ© the day of her wisdom tooth extraction. “I had no idea it was going to affect the anesthesia,” says the 35-year-old, who lives in Arizona. (She requested that Mic publish only her first name out of concern for the legal repercussions of her weed use, since Arizona prohibits recreational cannabis.) Indeed, as legalization sweeps across the country, evidence has emerged that regular marijuana users need more anesthesia for surgery than non-users to ensure they become, and stay, sedated and don’t awaken mid-procedure. In plain, very urgent, English: If you consume cannabis on the reg, you need to let your doctor know before you go under for surgery.
Jennie’s wisdom tooth extraction left her so groggy that she needed to be transported to her car by wheelchair, and she doesn’t remember anything from the 45-minute ride home. As her fiancГ© drove, she drifted in and out of sleep, and didn’t feel like herself again for another three hours. In contrast, a friend she drove home after a dental procedure was a little groggy, but could walk to his car and felt fine when he got home, probably because he wasn’t a cannabis user, and therefore didn’t require as much anesthesia.
If you do smoke cannabis regularly, tell your anesthesiologist how much and how often, as well as the last time you smoked, Uppington says. They can then assess whether your use could increase your risk of being resistant to anesthesia and make adjustments accordingly.
Thanks to modern-day monitors that measure brain waves and other vitals, an anesthesiologist can likely spot when a patient is about to awaken and give them more drugs before they reach that point, Uppington says. But even if you don’t wake up during a procedure, you can still have issues. If you routinely smoke weed, your airway might be more reactive during anesthesia. You might cough more, experience bronchial spasms, and/or have a more active gag reflex, which is a problem if you need to be intubated, as with general anesthesia (the kind that puts you to sleep).
After surgery, you might also experience more pain, which may nudge you toward using more opioids and increase your risk of addiction to these substances, says David Hepner, the medical director of the Weiner Center for Preoperative Evaluation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an associate professor of anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School.

No matter how often you consume cannabis, though, don’t use it at all on the day of your procedure, Hepner says. Taking an edible on the same day poses the added risk of inhaling it, which may result in a life-threatening lung infection called aspiration pneumonia. And if you come into the clinic high AF, you can pretty much count on your surgery being cancelled. Uppington recommends hitting pause for as many days as you can before your surgery, ideally a month, which is how long it takes for cannabis to be fully removed from the body.

One day in 2016, Jennie awoke to sharp pain and a tugging sensation on the left side of her jaw — "like my jaw was being pulled off my head," she recalls — along with the firm pressure of hands holding her mouth agape. She opened her eyes just…

growing marijuana in texas

  • Texas opening up application process to grow medical cannabis
  • Only three applicants were granted a license two years ago
  • Hopefuls will try again

Enriquez is seeing green though, in more ways than one, and says many others are, too.
The Texas Association of Business isn’t convinced there’s a boom on the horizon. In a statement they told us, “The Texas Association of Business does not perceive this limited application of low-THC prescriptions as having an immediate, notable financial impact on the Texas economy.”

Enriquez hopes his would-be growing operation, Craft Harvest, will help to boost the Texas economy.
AUSTIN, Texas – More Texas patients now have access to medical cannabis since the state expanded the Compassionate Use Act last session. That’s led to more businesses wanting to get on board with hemp production.
“It’s going to be fiercely competitive,” said Enriquez.
“You know, an influx of work and labor and potential jobs for a lot of people,” said Enriquez.
“We received a letter from DPS that we do not have to start the whole process over, so really it’s going to take a little revisions and our application is still pending with DPS,” Enriquez said.

Two years ago, 43 applicants applied to legally grow marijuana for medical purposes in Texas, but only three were granted a license. Now, the state will open up the application process again.

Texas expanded the Compassionate Use Act.

A benefit to outdoor soil growing is that if you have a good base-soil built up, it’s not necessary to add nutrients throughout the plant’s life cycle. That means less work for you! It is also likely that the smell and flavor profiles of your buds will increase as well.

Plants have an unlimited supply of oxygen because of added oxygen from the air stone in the reservoir. Since the plant is spending less energy finding what it needs to grow, it channels that energy to plant growth. In addition, with proper guidance and a quality set up, DWC takes less time to maintain than an average grow.
In addition, having too many plants in one reservoir can lead to problems such as white powdery mildew. Don’t cramp your plants, instead, we recommend growing one plant per reservoir to allow the roots to spread out and give the leaves and buds more space.

Outdoor soil growing is a common gardening technique that most people with house plants or vegetable gardens are familiar with. Using techniques such as top-fed watering, deep irrigation or wicks are all viable methods to water your plants. You can either use organic, composted soil, or store-bought soil with added liquid nutrients.
It’s also very important to use Cal-Mag, or Calcium and Magnesium, in your coco growing medium. Calcium plays a direct role in a plant’s root development, nutrient uptake and protein synthesis. Magnesium is an essential part of chlorophyll production, helping your plants with photosynthesis, as well as aiding in the synthesis of sugars and proteins. Together, the correct amount of magnesium and calcium will help keep your cannabis plant healthy.
With essential grow knowledge, you’ll learn the benefits and tips of different grow methods, how to maximize plant yields and grow times, the best harvesting, drying, curing methods and much more! Who’s ready to start their cannabis growing journey?
While the laws, limitations and regulations are different for each state, almost every state with some form of legalized marijuana does allow home cultivation to some extent. Even though it’s completely legal, some people do not take advantage of their right to grow cannabis due to the perception that it is too difficult, expensive or time-consuming.
Flushing your plants by removing any nutrients and salts improves the quality and taste of your final product. By simply draining your bubbler bucket reservoir and adding plain (pH neutral) water for two-three days before harvest, the plant will use all its existing nutrients contained in the stems, leaves and buds.

For more experienced growers, a one-to-one coco to perlite ratio is recommended as you are able to water more frequently, giving the plant more nutrient uptake and allowing more aggressive root growth.

New to growing cannabis? Don’t worry, our beginner’s guide to growing marijuana will help you through the process. From seed to harvest, we have you covered with tips, tricks and step-by-step procedures.

makeshift dab rig

Crack pipes are too dang fragile for my klutzy, high self

Smear some wax onto a piece of aluminum foil. Roll the foil into a ball with the wax inside and not able to be hit with direct flame. Toss in any bowl and flame lightly.
Steamrollers work great.

Well, I’m aware of this method, but I was curious to see fullblown custom rigs, with percolation and such.
Honestly, dabbing is kind of “stoner elite”. A home made dab rig I would equate to you putting aluminum foil on the bumper of your 2012 AMG Mercedes to make them look chrome. People who have enough money to buy $60 little ball of wax generally have no problem buying a $500 dab rig, those who can’t break some over a bowl instead .
ok all you need is a water or soda bottle and 2 butter knives. the bottom of the bottle. heat up one of the knives on the stove and put your dab on the other knife. put bottle in your mouth and then touch the dab to the hot knife and inhale via bottle. easy dabs like 1 2 3.
edit: If you really want a cheap-but-effective rig, get a crack pipe. They’re usually around $5 and they do get the job done.
Hot knives isn’t exactly a “home made dab rig”, but works hella good!

Edit: I use a customized CannaStick mostly, but make foil balls when I clean the gear. It’s a great fall back method for emergencies, also.

r/StonerEngineering: You give a few pot heads a bunch of weed and nothing to smoke out of and they suddenly become engineers. It's amazing.

Makeshift dab rig

At first, we wanted to create something that would really pop. Something with style and form and a little bit of edge. So we got a light bulb.

As I returned to the drawing board, it quickly became evident that the simplest approach was the best. The knife hit employs common household objects, minimizes risk of bodily injury and functions just as it’s supposed to.
Yet not everyone will be to be able to celebrate this July 10. Did you know that as many as one in 10 Oregon households doesn’t contain a single functioning dab rig? Well, July 10, 2016, marks the first 710 since cannabis concentrates became legal for recreational users, which means there are a lot of people who might struggle to make the leap up from 4/20.

For people who don’t have a fancy rig, the the knife hit is a classic trick—all you need is a metal knife, a paper clip or pen, and a disposable plastic water bottle.
Oil Day, or 710, at its core, is an inclusive holiday—a time for people of all stripes to come together under the gorgeous green banner of dabs.
To address the lack of dab access for too many Oregonians, we’ve gone into overdrive looking for functional alternatives to buying an expensive dab rig. The darker recesses of YouTube are abuzz with instructional videos for makeshift dab rigs—we tried two of the most basic and found the best.
The light-bulb pipe, a method first popularized by methamphetamine enthusiasts, seemed like the perfect place to start. Most people can find one lying around the house, and in theory, all you have to do is open it up with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers, take out all of the innards, give it a little rinse, heat it up, and put a piece of wax or shatter in the bottom,
Unfortunately, opening up a light bulb is not as easy as the videos suggest. Despite multiple attempts on multiple bulbs, the casing simply would not budge. And when one of my light bulbs shattered so violently that I nearly took a shard to the eye, it was time to accept that this method was deeply flawed.

Cut the plastic water bottle in half, and notch the bottom of the top half of the bottle. Take off the cap and stand the half bottle on a flat surface. Put a li’l dab of cannabis oil on your paper clip, or any other small, pointy metal object. Heat up a butter knife, preferably with a blowtorch—a stove top, Bunsen burner or campfire will also suffice. When you’re ready to take your hit, stick the hot knife through the slot you’ve made. Touch the oil to the hot knife, and inhale through the top of the bottle.

Potlander Oil Day, or 710, at its core, is an inclusive holiday—a time for people of all stripes to come together under the gorgeous green banner of dabs. Yet not everyone will be to be able

The tent is easy and straight forward to pitch. We managed to pitch it in 45 minutes and we think that is probably as quick a time it can be done in. (We were having a race against our friends pitching their tent so we were not going slow!) Usually it takes us just over an hour from getting tent out of car to putting all the gear inside.

cannabis under watering

Cannabis under watering

The remedy for overwatering is quite a simple one: ease off on the fluids! First thing’s first, leave more time between watering sessions. Probe the topsoil with your index finger and wait until the first 3cm have sufficiently dried out before applying more water. This will generally lead to a routine of watering around every 2–3 days. Additionally, during watering, make sure not to drown your plant each time. Water enough to notice runoff leaving the drainage holes for about 60 seconds after watering, and no longer.

Watering cannabis is a balancing act. Too much and you risk root rot, too little and your plant will dry out. Use these tips to fix any issues with overwatering and underwatering.
Once a root system has developed, you can switch to watering routines that will see you all the way through to harvest. In line with the guidance above, watering should take place every 2–3 days, or when the surrounding soil is dry to the touch. The most effective way to get into good habits with watering is to water at the start of the day. For outdoor cultivations, plants will have an entire day of sunlight to utilise. If growing indoors, it is helpful to set your grow lights to come on at the start of the day, just as you are watering.

Pot size is also an important factor to consider here. You’ll need to start your seedling off in a small pot and gradually transplant it into bigger pots as it continues to grow in size. If you place a small plant into a big pot too early, the roots won’t be capable of taking in a lot of water from the soil, which means the medium will stay saturated for too long.
Underwatering or overwatering plants is by far one of the easiest mistakes to make when growing weed. The symptoms of doing either are quite similar in that you’ll notice leaves beginning to droop and a general ill and wilted look to your plants. This guide will explain how to identify signs of both underwatering and overwatering, and how to remedy them.
Consistency in watering routines supports another vital building block of cannabis—nutrition. Your plant’s root system will absorb essential nutrients from its growing medium, but only when pH levels are optimal (6.0–7.0 pH for soil, 5.5–6.5 for hydro/soilless/coco). The key is to keep plants watered on a schedule. Not only does it keep plants routinely hydrated, but it will prevent fluctuations in pH—a symptom diagnosed by brown spots on middle or lower leaves.
It’s possible to get your plant back on track after a period of underwatering, depending on the severity of the situation. If your plant has been significantly neglected and is literally lying on the topsoil, then the chances are low. However, if all you’re seeing is slight drooping of the leaves and general wilting, all it takes is readjusting your watering schedule.

One key piece of cannabis anatomy is the root system. As well as anchoring plants securely into the soil to prevent the wind from blowing them over, the roots act to absorb water and nutrients from the soil below. A little-known fact is that plants also use their roots to take in oxygen. If you give your plants too much water, or the correct amount, but too often, you obstruct their ability to intake oxygen, which then results in symptoms arising.

Underwatering and overwatering produce similar symptoms and are both detrimental to plants. Learn how to manage watering correctly to avoid these issues.

Cannabis under watering

Cannabis Underwatering Symptoms

Most growers tend to give too much – not too little – water to their plants. However, if you’re spending long periods away from your marijuana plants or the containers are drying up in less than a day or two, it may mean that your plant needs to be watered more often, or be given more water at a time.
Chronically Under Watered Seedlings – These yellow leaves are actually caused by the plants being slightly under-watered on a regular basis

  • plant may need to be watered more often
  • plant may need more water at a time
  • plant may have overgrown its pot and need to be transplanted

If you’ve been underwatering your plant, its leaves will look limp and lifeless, like these plants.
Need more help?
A simple way to tell if a potted plant is ready to be watered is to pick it up and tell if it feels heavy or not.

  • drooping (plants often get better after being watered)
  • leaves often seem “papery” and thin because they don’t have any water inside them. (This is opposed to overwatering where the leaves often feel bloated and “fat” from all the water contained inside)
  • chronic underwatering eventually leads to yellowing leaves and nutrient deficiencies

Learn about ones of the best ways to properly water your potted cannabis plant every time…

From wilting to dropping to yellow leaves to nutrient deficiencies, under watering cannabis can cause a lot of unexpected problems and symptoms. Learn & fix!

hydroponic buds

Hydroponic buds

  • Plants grown in a hydroponic reservoir tend to grow faster in the vegetative stage, resulting in bigger yields and faster harvests
  • Hydroponic buds tend to be more potent and often cost more at dispensaries
  • Once a hydroponic reservoir is set up, it does not take a lot of work or time to maintain. Instead of regularly watering plants and removing runoff, a hydro reservoir only requires you dip a PH Pen and top off with more water or adjust as needed.

Once you’ve got your gear and supplies, it’s time to get set up and start growing! Here’s a quick overview.
Differences Between Soil & Hydro

  • Train plants to grow flat
  • Switch to flower when plant has reached half the final desired size

Growing in coco coir can be considered a type of hydroponics since it naturally contains no nutrients and you must provide all the nutrients in the water. However, when you say “hydroponics” most people think of this:

  • Set up reservoir – Water, seedling nutrients & pH. Make sure to add beneficial bacteria
  • How to start seedlings – Make sure top feed is not butted directly against Rapid Rooter
  • Top off reservoir regularly with nutrient water. In order for the beneficial bacteria in your reservoir to make a strong, healthy colony it helps to avoid doing a complete reservoir change for the first 3-4 weeks. Instead, top off your reservoir with vegetative strength nutrients when the water level gets low. This will slowly raise your nutrient levels from seedling to vegetative stage strength without stressing your plants, and giving your root colony as much a chance as possible to get established on your roots before you completely change the water.

marijuana growers handbook

Marijuana growers handbook

When we cultivate cannabis outdoors or indoors, it is always exciting, especially if it’s our first time, as it opens us up to a new world of opportunities in which anything is possible, and in which the growers wishes, doubts and dedication are combined.

A healthy crop soil is a productive soil. The health of the growing medium can be measured by the diversity of organisms and microorganisms that inhabit it. These microscopic soil inhabitants, mainly fungi and bacteria, establish a whole series of relationships with the plant that are essential to the proper development of a cannabis crop.
Of all the pleasant experiences to savour when growing our own cannabis, undoubtedly one of the most special and highly anticipated is the moment we finally take the scissors and cut the plant at harvest time. In many cases this emotion is followed by a great relief, brought on by the tranquility of removing plants, especially outdoor grown plants, which may have been exposed to certain prying eyes.

Guerrilla growing cannabis is a fairly common practice among those growers who don’t have any place of their own to cultivate, whether it’s an indoor grow, an outdoor garden or a balcony. In short, the idea is to find a suitable site in a nearby forest or scrubland where you’ll be able to safely grow a few plants and remain undetected. This can end up being a real challenge, given the numerous potential dangers we can face: Forestry patrols, hunters, hikers, wild mushroom collectors… they could all accidentally stumble upon your plants, something every grower wants to avoid at all costs.
With this in mind, security, discretion, weather conditions and genetics are just some of the aspects that we’ll be dealing with so that you can harvest the very best buds from your guerrilla grow… as if you cared for the plants in your own garden!
This is the feature that makes autos so popular with many growers, as they can deliver a harvest just 60-80 days after germination, much faster than any traditional genetics.
Growing among herbs and other aromatic plants can help to mask the distinctive aroma of our cannabis harvest.
In this article we’re going to explain everything you’ll need to consider when looking for the best spot to grow cannabis, as well as the best way to prepare the site so your plants are as well camouflaged as possible and can offer their maximum potential. We’ll also recommend the most suitable cannabis varieties and teach you a few tips and tricks to help you get the best out of your guerrilla grow, because, as every outdoor grower knows, the head stash supply for the whole year can depend on just one harvest, so there’s no room for errors!

Studying the cultivation space fully, together with the assessment of the means we have at our disposal and the dedication and effort that we can provide, will mean we are much more likely to optimise resources like the time and money that we will invest over the entire process of the culture.

making hash from trim

How to make hash

The preparation of marijuana plant trimmings
The tricky part is the extraction and then manipulation of the trichomes to form the hash, but to remove as much of the elements as possible, there are a few things that you should do.

3. Prepare a cold room
Since the trichomes are so incredibly tiny, it doesn’t take long for them to warm back up, undoing the last 24 hours of deep freezing. The best way to deter that from happening is to find an area in your home or even outdoors with a minimal wind that is as cold as possible. Ideally, it best to stay below 15 C.
2. Freeze the marijuana leaf trimmings
At warmer temperatures, the trichomes that are harvested to make hash will be resinous and sticky, which will make them much more difficult to remove from the cannabis plant materials. Therefore, it is always recommended to freeze your trimmings for at least 24 hours before using it to make hash.
So many people will assume that the fan leaves from cannabis plants are of little use, but they do contain some THC, but that’s not generally where all the good stuff comes from. The majority of the trichomes that you will be harvesting are clinging to small bud portions that were trimmed away with the smaller leaves. The better you clean your weed; the more THC will be present in the materials. This can help to alleviate some of the worries about waste when it’s time to trim your marijuana plants since any small bud tips that are cut away will be fully utilized later when you make hash out of it. You will not find any specific amount guidelines here because the amount you begin with will only affect how much you get, not how well the process itself works.
1. Be sure that the plant materials being used are as dry as possible.
Freshly harvested cannabis leaves should never be used. A cure time of at least ten full days is recommended before using trimmings to make hash.
Screen size number meaning

  1. Line up the three sifting screens fo that the smallest number is sitting on top, and the largest is resting on the bottom.
  2. Now you can perform your first run of the plant materials, which will provide you with the highest quality kief collection. This is done by sprinkling the leaf trimmings over top of the sifting screen and using a plastic card to move it around a little before slowly scooping it back out and into a holding bowl. Depending on how many leaves you have, you might need to do this several times. Always remember, that the more you work the trimmings over the screen, the more plant materials will make it through which will lower the quality of the end product.
  3. Once you have run all the plant material through the first sifting screen, you can remove both top filters and collect the trichomes that are gathered underneath and set them into a small bowl for now. This step is not absolutely necessary but will give you a small amount of potent high-grade powder. I highly recommended gathering each batch and storing it separately between runs, but if you prefer quantity over quality, then feel free to leave it all until the very end.
  4. Use the plastic card to clean the screens from any remaining plant matter before performing a second run and refreeze the leaf trimmings while you do so.
  5. Now it is time to do a second run of the leaf trimmings, and this time it’s ok to be a bit rougher with rubbing the plant materials against the sifting screens. Once finished, you can use a plastic card to help the trichomes through the levels of filters. When that is complete, and you have removed the second screen, use a plastic card to tap gently on the third and final one. This will help the trichomes to separate the rest of the way from any remaining contaminants or plant materials.
  6. Now wipe off the plastic card and use it to scoop up the crystals which can be placed into a holding bowl for storage.
  7. Prepare separate foil pieces for each separate holding bowl of materials by cutting squares that are large enough to envelop the crystals into a small brick like shape.
  8. Fill the foil piece with kief and add one or two droplets of water to the mixture.
  9. Now you will need to apply pressure to the kief to compress it into a chunk. This can be done with your hands, a heavy book, or anything else that will apply a fair amount of pressure for a few minutes without wrecking the foil.
  10. Once the hash has been pressed, it will need to rest for 12-24 hours. This will allow the water time to evaporate and leave the kief crystals combined.
  11. After all that hard work and waiting, your freshly made hash is ready to enjoy.

One of the most substantial byproducts obtained during the trimming of cannabis buds is the leaves and other hash plant materials that are often thrown.
