New strains for 2018

2018 has just arrived and with the new year brings a some very good strains of marijuana. Whether you’re growing indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse, you may want to add some of these new marijuana seeds to your collection.

This new year of 2018 has a number of various cannabis hybrids available for the first time to the public. As cannabis laws and regulations have changed worldwide, so have the attitudes of many people, who are getting into growing cannabis as a new challenge.
A new strain of marijuana is made by breeding a male in female cannabis plant together. This is done either intentionally or not, but in any case leads to the successful fertilization of the female cannabis plant — this makes seeds.

You get the idea… But basically any strain that is bred with IBL genetics, will have a more stabilized proceeding filial generation (F1, F2, F3, ect.) of seeds.
Most new strains of marijuana in 2018 are hybrids. Note though however, a great deal of hybrid seed strains have been successfully stabilized and are considered as solid, if not more solid, than traditional landrace strains.
For example, let’s look at a few classic IBL strains:
If cannabis seeds seeds are made between a male and female plant of the same strain, the new seed strain should have similar traits depending on the stability of the genetics. This is why IBL and heirloom strains are popular — they are stable breeding genetics.
As for the new indica strains on the seed bank market, well you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that Gorilla Glue crosses are the new rage. Also watch out for fast flowering hash plant hybrids, hash plant genetics have proven themselves to be more hardy in the outdoors than other indica varieties such as Afghani, Kush, ect.

For new sativa strains, what’s hot in 2018, at least around me, are the Thai and Vietnamese hybrid strains and also the 75% sativa Gorilla Glue #4 strain. It’s well known that certain ativa strains posses a high quantity of the elusive cannabinoid THCV. THCV, present in tropical cannabis, thrives under equatorial sun and that trait is passed down through it’s proceeding generations of seed. THCV has been known to cause effects such as: psychedelia, speedy thoughts, high productivity, and paranoia.

Legendary cannabis breeding outfit Brothers Grimm, revived in 2015, returns to the sensi stage with its take on a classic. By pollinating Jack Herer with reversed female pollen from his Cinderella 99 signature strain, Brothers Grimm’s Mr. Soul retained the beloved spicy sandalwood aroma and musky flavor of the Jack, but added resin production, stability and yield while reducing flowering time. Unlike some poorly produced feminized seeds, these beans pop 100 percent female and grow into heavy plants that need extra support or trellising.
