Kosher kush review

Reserva Privada’s Kosher Kush is a cannabis cup-snagging variety, two of which were acquired in the same category at the 2012 Spannabis Cannabis Champions Cup.

Charles Phillips, CEO of DNA Genetics, says he regards the strength of his company’s phenotyping and quality standards combined with Canopy Growth’s global presence and distribution power to be a winning combination worthy of producing the best cannabis.
The strain’s genetics are prolific, having gone on to create some enticing hybrids, such as Family Jewels, Miss USA and Nicole Kush.

  • first place at the 2010, 2011 and 2012 High Times Cannabis Cup for Best Indica;
  • both second and third places at the 2012 Spannabis Cannabis Champions Cup in the Hydro category;
  • third place at the 2014 High Times Cannabis Cup for Best Indica; and
  • second place at the 2018 Highlife Cup in the Kush Strains category.

Produced now by DNA Genetics under the Reserva Privada label, Kosher Kush seeds are a cinch for beginner growers, yet the plant still poses some challenges for master growers to conquer.
Reserva Privada reports that Kosher Kush began as a popular Los Angeles-based strain that was jokingly called Jew Gold, or “JG” for those who err on the side of subtlety. Jew Gold is a variety of cannabis of unknown lineage, with mostly indica genetics, that has a few notable descendants in its line. None, however, are more famous than Kosher Kush.
The strain has infiltrated the legal market through Whistler Medical Marijuana Corporation, Broken Coast Cannabis, 48North Cannabis Corporation and DNA Genetics. Canopy Growth Corporation entered into its first agreement with DNA for the Canadian market in 2015. As of 2019, that agreement has been extended to include Jamaica and Europe.
Besides its ability to snag cannabis cup titles, Kosher Kush is known for its staggering levels of THC, its intense earthy odour and the unique taste of its smoke.

This is a hybrid strain of indica descent with a powerful THC potency that reaches 23 percent, depending on the goals and expertise of the grower. A THC-rich strain with indica genetics and a terpene profile that includes myrcene and beta-caryophyllene promises a good night’s sleep for those who try Kosher Kush.
