The duo, with N.W.A. member DJ Yella, are set to perform at the medical marijuana-centric National Orange Show event under the moniker N.W.A. Family.
“I have a stronger grasp of my voice and a stronger grasp of the craft of music,” E said. “I went from working with The D.O.C. to learning how to write myself. My style is more confident, a little more mature Lil Eazy as opposed to when I first got in the industry.”
While Young’s own name has been attached to a movie titled “Dogg Pound For Life” about the record label Death Row Records (with him playing his father), he said it was now “questionable” as “that movie is up in the air. I’m not sure if I’m going to be attached to that.”
And E would not confirm if there would be a movie about his father.
Hempcon is scheduled to take place Friday through Nov. 8 at the National Orange Show in San Bernardino.
In addition to movies, both are working on their own music careers.
“I loved it,” Young said. “I think it was portrayed in a right light. The character who played my father (Corey Hawkins) played the role perfect.” Added E: “They did the best you could do in the big screen format. They did a good job.”
The N.W.A Family performance is set for Sunday as well as Oakland hip-hop legend Too $hort and other acts. On Saturday, Georgia hip-hop star and Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival veteran 2 Chainz is set to perform as well as and Los Angeles hip-hop artist Nipsey Hussle and other acts.
Lil Eazy E is set to perform on Nov. 8 at Hempcon in San Bernardino.
