Marijuana Strain for Insomnia Relief
You’ll be hard-pressed to find a supercharged strain as complex as AK47, a sativa-dominant cannabis hybrid that crosses continents. Combining Colombian, Mexican, Thai, and Afghani strains, AK47 autoflowering marijuana seeds offer a steady, long-lasting heady buzz that will have you feeling alert and engaged. One of the more popular strains to come out of the 90s, AK47 is a Cannabis Cup award winner topping off at about 19% THC. After that initial boost of energy, AK47 can taper into soothing sleepiness – a well-rounded marijuana strain if ever there was one. You will notice AK47 has both sour and earthy flavors, coupled with floral notes. Because of that skunky scent, prospective growers may want to plant their AK47 autoflowering marijuana seeds indoors – they thrive in either soil or hydroponic setups. For a garden full of resinous buds, start with our simple-to-follow germination guide, and you’ll end up harvesting after about 60 days of flowering.

New Mexico’s Marijuana Laws
Let’s break this down nice and simple so there’s no confusion. Firstly, recreational use of marijuana is illegal in New Mexico. There, we ripped the bandaid off in one quick, swift motion and it wasn’t even that painful. Now onto the fun stuff. Medical marijuana is legal throughout New Mexico if you have a valid, government-issued medical card. It’s also legal to buy marijuana seeds without any sort of documentation or paperwork. You can buy seeds online through Pacific Seed Bank or at your dispensary.
New Mexico has some relatively open medical marijuana laws, compared to other states in its vicinity. Medical marijuana patients who are registered as such with the state can use marijuana products in the treatment of many different conditions including Huntington’s disease, intractable nausea, peripheral neuropathy, spinal cord damage, and cervical dystonia. Every 90 days, registered patients are entitled to receive eight ounces of this healing medicine.
The state also has home cultivation allowances in order, which is great news for Pacific Seed Bank customers who want to buy marijuana seeds to grow their own plants and treat themselves with products whose history they fully comprehend. Registered patients can, under the medical marijuana law, grow up to 16 plants in their home, so long as no more than 4 are mature (harvestable) at any given time.
How To Grow Marijuana Plants In The Sun
Boy oh boy, does it get hot in New Mexico. During the summer, the sun doesn’t mess around. It’s nice to get that Vitamin D but sometimes the sun can be the death of your plants. Literally. When growing marijuana, it’s important to never let the soil dry out, which means you’ll likely have to water them every day during the summer. Don’t forget and don’t get lazy. It’s easier to start marijuana plants indoors in New Mexico, that way you won’t have to worry as much about the scorching temperatures.
The most important thing when growing marijuana plants is retaining their moisture. Dehydrated marijuana plants are unhealthy marijuana plants. That’s why it’s crucial to set up a watering schedule, so you never miss a beat! And if you’re traveling for days or weeks at a time, have a friend come over to do the watering for you. Baby marijuana plants are especially needy, kind of like human babies. They require constant care, attention, and time. If you’re not 100% committed to the process, growing marijuana might not be for you. For less high-maintenance plants, we recommend choosing autoflowering marijuana seeds. These plants are easier to maintain over time.
The first step, of course, is ordering excellent marijuana seeds. Pacific Seed Bank offers 21 premium strains, all of them reliably feminized and including auto-flowering and high-CBD medical varieties. The next step is germination, and Pacific Seed Bank has you covered there, too. On our website, we outline our simple germination method, and as long as this method is followed, we promise a 90% germination guarantee – if fewer than 9 out of 10 seeds germinate, we’ll send you new ones to make up the difference!
Once your seeds have sprouted their own little taproots, you can plant your tiny marijuana seedlings in soil for outdoor or indoor growing, or in a hydroponic medium for a less traditional – but no less rewarding – option. Your plants will spend a few weeks in the vegetative stage, and then between 50 and 90 days in the flowering stage (if you choose auto-flowering marijuana seeds, your plants will transition on their own). Once the growth period is complete, you’ll have a large yield of healing flower to harvest, dry, cure, and consume – and we have articles to help you with all of that, too.
Health Benefits Of Weed Seeds

How Do I Get A Medical Marijuana Card?

If marijuana is the solution, they’ll give you a medical card. First, it might be helpful to research the qualifying conditions if you want to buy marijuana seeds in New Mexico. Growing Cannabis Seeds in New Mexico
If you’re ready to grow cannabis seeds in New Mexico, this is a must-read section.
New Mexico offers incredible landscapes and climates to grow marijuana seeds. From dry weather to intense sunshine, your cannabis crop will happily produce ounces and ounces of top-shelf buds come harvest time.
However, you’ll need to take in these considerations before you start growing marijuana seeds at home.
Let’s take a look at each in greater detail, so you can understand what it takes to grow cannabis seeds in New Mexico.
When to Sprout Cannabis Seeds in New Mexico
New Mexico’s climate is rated as continental and semi-arid.
In other words, New Mexico features brutally hot summers and frozen-fingers-style cold during the winter. Therefore, you’ll need to get your weed seeds in the ground at a specific time to ensure an adequate growing and flowering time.
If you live in a warm region, such as Hobbs, NM, you can germinate the seeds by the middle of April. However, if you live in a cold area, such as Eagles Nest, NM, you may want to sprout your weed seeds by the middle of May.
However, all of what we’ve mentioned above pertains to germinating marijuana seeds outdoors. If you grow marijuana seeds indoors — you can pop them any time.
Overall, ensure sufficient conditions when germinating cannabis seeds as this is the most vulnerable moment of their lives. Once you get past the germination phase, it’s all smooth sailing ahead!
Issues to Consider When Growing Marijuana Seeds In New Mexico
Even though growing cannabis seeds is legal in New Mexico — there are issues to consider that’ll make or break your overall experience.
Here’s a list of problems that may arise as you grow cannabis seeds at home this year:
- Law Enforcement
- Inclement weather
- Pests and diseases
Let’s take a look at each issue in detail so you can avoid any heartaches during this year’s growing season.
Even though New Mexico is a desert, it can get extremely cold.
Yes — cops can bust you if you’re growing too much weed.
Remember, even though cannabis seed cultivation is legal in New Mexico — you can’t go ahead and grow as many seeds as you’d like. In other words, there’s a limit on the number of cannabis seeds that you can grow at home.
The magic number of allowable cannabis seeds is six. Therefore, growing more than six cannabis seeds may land you in hot water with law enforcement.
If you want to avoid problems with the law — we suggest you grow the allowable limit of six mature cannabis plants and nothing more.
It’s no fun having to look over your back, but thieves are out there, and they will rob you of your cannabis flowers if they get a chance.
Remember, cannabis is a valuable crop, which quickly flows in and out of the black market. To avoid being targeted by thieves — always follow the golden rule: don’t tell anyone you grow weed.
Furthermore, we recommend growing cannabis seeds out of eyesight, whether indoors or outdoors. As long as you keep your cannabis garden hidden and under surveillance — you’ll avoid a scary encounter with thieves.
Although New Mexico is arid and hot during the summer — you may find yourself under a sudden downpour of rain and lightning.
Sudden thunderstorms are common throughout New Mexico, which means outdoor crops need rain protection. Furthermore, it’s not just summer thunderstorms that you need to worry about.
As summer ends and autumn begins, New Mexico gets surprisingly cold. Therefore, you need to pay attention once the seasons start to change. Unless you’re into frozen buds, you need to have a plan in the event your outdoor garden starts getting hailed on!
Pests and Diseases
Last but not least are pests and diseases.
Nobody enjoys dealing with pests and diseases — especially when you find them on a limited edition seed strain.
We recommend always having organic fungicides and pesticides to deter pests and diseases. However, the best method is to choose cannabis seed strains that feature pest and disease tolerance.
By buying pest and disease tolerant seed strains — you’ll find lush cannabis plants in your garden all season long.
