Afgoo strain review

Until now a clone-only strain, we are the first to present it in feminized seeds, after successfully reversing it and crossing it onto itself (S1). The Afgooey is a very strong, vigorous plant. The leaves are thick and dark green, with overlapping leaflets.

The flavour reminds of old-school afghan, with a fruity twist. It is earthy at first, but evolves into a sweeter, fruitier experience, with notes of orange, lemon and tropical fruits.
Short internodes, bushy structure, thick branches and wide stem are typical of this strain. The Afgooey can take high EC levels, and is very good for Sea of Green or for Scrog systems.

The Afgooey is very stoned, with a cerebral effect that I can define as confusing, heady, almost chaotic. It hits fast, and lasts long.
The Afgooey is a famous cut from Northern California.

It performs well in all types of medium, and can do great outdoors as well. The buds are pear-shaped, compact, dense, with medium to large calyx. The resin is very thick, and the plants get very smelly already in mid-flowering.

I’d never tried an Afgoo strain before and was a little put off by it’s rather dry and dull-green exterior. I have traditionally gone for Sativa strains out of habit, but I was inspired to step outside my comfort zone and give different strains and products a try. As a long-time cannabis consumer, Afgoo lived up to its reputation delivering a pleasant mind and body high for hours.

Afgoo is said to come from an Afghani landrace and Maui Haze strain. Landrace strains are strains that have naturally developed in a certain location over time. Maui Haze is a sativa-dominant strain that has a distinctly ammonia-laced scent with a hint of mango and lemon. Both the parent strains’ THC levels start off at 20 percent concentration, which is why the Afgoo strain was potent enough for a frequent user like me. Afgoo strains’ THC levels range from 15 to as much as 30 percent.
While consuming too much Afgoo can make some people feel drowsy, I felt energized and creative. Afgoo users have reported that high doses have helped them relieve their minor aches, pains, and insomnia. I felt inspired to write for my personal blog, which can be difficult to do when you write for clients all day.

My specific batch of Afgoo was a little on the dry and brown side, but that didn’t stop it from having a pungent aroma whenever I opened its jar. Upon the first whiff, Afgoo had a subtly sweet aroma that almost smelled like a ripe berry. Afgoo also had a strong earthy and hashy note with a touch of spicy diesel at the end.
Afgoo strains come in all shapes and sizes. My Afgoo buds were particularly long and thin with a semi-dense bud structure. Its leaves were a flat green color with a tinge of brown. The Afgoo nugs were covered in golden-colored and resinous trichome hairs, the part of the plant that contains cannabinoids and terpenes.
Afgoo is a classic Indica-dominant hybrid strain that has been around since the 1980s. It’s strong genetics, moderate-to-high THC levels, and complex aroma has kept this strain at the forefront of popular Indica strains for cannabis connoisseurs. Afgoo, also known as Afgooey, can be typically found on the West Coast, but if you ask friends and budtenders, they may be able to help you locate some of this fast-acting Indica strain if it’s legal in your state.
Afgoo features a solid terpene profile, with its most abundant terpenes being alpha-pinene, myrcene, limonene, and beta-pinene. These citrus, pine, and spicy-smelling terpenes offer a perfect balance of tart and sweetness.
I tried vaping and smoking Afgoo out of my Pax and glass piece, respectively, and each method was effective and enjoyable. Afgoo’s mellow and spicy taste really came through when heated in the Pax. Smoking a bowl of Afgoo resulted in a slightly quicker onset of effects. Each method relaxed my body, improved my mood, and even made me more productive.

Afgoo’s aroma isn’t my go-to when buying flower buds. I usually stick to citrus, pine, and fruity-scented strains, but Afgoo really made me appreciate its musky aroma and potent effects. Afgoo’s popularity has increased ever since breeders started producing more clones and seeds for cultivators and home-growers to use. If you’re looking for a classic strain, you’ve got to try some high-quality Afgoo.
