3 types of weed

The leaves of an indica are wide and short and the plant has a ‘woody’ structure, as the twigs grow much closer to each other than in a sativa.

‘Haze’ varieties are mainly sativa, like for example Super Lemon Haze or Arjan’s Haze #3 from Greenhouse. Kali Mist from Serious Seeds also is a typical sativa.
A ruderalis usually has very low THC levels and therefore is less interesting to cultivate. However, hybrids between a ruderalis and an indica or sativa can be very valuable.

My first high was some vietmese from Vietnam very very
Powerful. Has anyone else had that experience?
The ruderalis is a very small plant with a short flowering period. It’s indigenous to Eastern Europe and Russia and adapted to cool environments with little light and short days.
Sativa plants can grow very tall, up to 3 meters. They grow in equatorial regions with a relatively warm climate. The flowering period usually takes quite long: between 9 and 12 weeks. During the flowering period, the plants may still grow fast.
Wouldn’t the northern latitude countries have longer light cycles in the summer. I assume they don’t grow during the winter months when it has low light levels. Could this be why autoflowers can handle so much light without getting stunted??
Sativas usually smell sweeter than indicas and contain relatively large amounts of THC. They have a more ‘high’ and activating effect.

A ruderalis has small leaves and looks most like a bush. The plant can reach a maximum height of 1,5 meters. In a ruderalis, flowering and growth are not clearly separated.

Three types of cannabis Cannabis plants can be divided into three basic varieties: sativa, indica and ruderalis. These varieties originally grew in different climate zones and differ in appearance, growth pattern and effects. Most of the plants are a hybrid between sativa, indica and ruderalis. In the ‘specifications’ section of every seed we sell, you can read about its origins. Sativa cannabis plant Sativa plants can grow very tall, up to 3 meters. They grow in equatorial regions with a relatively warm climate. The flowering period usually takes quite long: between 9 and 12 weeks. During the flowering period, the plants may still grow fast. The leaves of a sativa are long and thin and the space between the twigs (internodes) is larger than in an indica plant. This gives the plant a more open appearance and makes it easier to harvest. Sativas usually smell sweeter than indicas and contain relatively large amounts of THC. They have a more ‘high’ and activating effect. ‘Haze’ varieties are mainly sativa, like for example Super Lemon Haze or Arjan’s Haze #3 from Greenhouse. Kali Mist from Serious Seeds also is a typical sativa. Indica cannabis plant Indica plants don’t grow very tall, and therefore are more suitable for a balcony or indoor growing. They originated from the Hindu-kush region of Central Asia. Their flowering period is relatively short: 7 to 9 weeks. The leaves of an indica are wide and short and the plant has a ‘woody’ structure, as the twigs grow much closer to each other than in a sativa. The smell of an indica is more intense, though less sweet than the smell of a sativa. Indica plants contain higher levels of CBD and have a more ‘stoned’ and relaxing effect. They’re also more suitable for medical use. ‘Skunk-varieties are indica-dominant,?

These original hybrids made by Mother Nature were called Landrace strains. They were all named after their areas of origin including:

Sativa, Indica, and Ruderalis are the three types (species) of cannabis. Cannabis users have come a long way since its legalization. There was a time when most cannabis users didn’t need (or probably care) to know the origins of their bud. But now that cannabis is legal in so many states, just getting your hands on some green isn’t the ultimate goal. You want to get the best strains, including hybrids too. Whether you’re interested in growing your own cannabis plants or you simply want to know the best strains to buy, learning about the three types (species) of cannabis is the best place to start.
The bushiest of the three strains of cannabis, ruderalis plants will only grow two-feet tall. It is from Central and Eastern Europe.

All that being said, finding a pure cannabis strain is practically impossible. With all the crossbreeding in the cannabis world, you’d be hard-pressed to find a strain of pure sativa, indica or ruderalis. Even the hybrid plants have been crossed with other hybrid plants at this point.
Ruderalis crossed with other strains also allows the plants to flower, regardless of the light cycle. Many growers also love creating hybrid ruderalis strains because the plants will contain higher levels of CBD.
Sativa is the most common type of cannabis and is originally from Eastern Asia. Thanks to the plant’s popularity spreading throughout the world, you can now find sativa growing on most continents. Many growers create hybrid strains of sativa to ensure the plant is hearty enough to grow outside of its land of origin.

Indica is famous for containing high amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It’s most widely used to produce hash — and not smoked nearly as often as sativa. They often contain higher amounts of CBD.
